Place: MFF, Malostranské náměstí 2/25, second floor, room S5
Program: Final version
On September 25th to 27th, the Brain Dynamics Workshop took place in the building of the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics of the Charles University, attended by almost 70 people from the Institute of Computer Science, Second Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of medicine in Hradec Králové, National Institute of Mental Health and already mentioned Faculty of Mathematics and Physics. The workshop was divided into three thematic parts: Schizophrenia - Multimodal imaging (Chair: Filip Španiel), Psychedelics (Chair: Jiří Horáček) and Brain stimulation (TMS, ...) (Chair: Jan Kremláček).
Before the topical sessions began, there was main keynote in the Wednesday evening by our Guest Davide Momi from the Stanford University on "Modelling of brain stimulation and network dynamics". The Wednesday programme was then concluded with a common dinner.
Topical session 1: Schizophrenia - Multimodal imaging started on Thursday morning. The first speaker was Filip Španiel. Other speakers in this session were David Tomeček, Eduard Bakštein and then our next guest Barbora Rehák Bučková. In the afternoon, after lunch, Topical Session 2: Psychedelics started, which was introduced by Professor Jiří Horáček. In the first part of this session, Nikola Jajcay and Vlastimil Koudelka spoke. In the second session, mainly PhD students such as Jan Hubený, Veronika Langová and Petr Adámek had the opportunity to present their research. The lectures on this day and in this topical session were concluded by Dominika Grygarová. Afterwards, a joint evening buffet and wine poster session followed.
On Friday, the last day of the workshop, the last session was Topical session 3: brain stimulation. Here the chair Jan Kremláček was the first speaker. He was followed by Shih Cheng Chien, Monika Klírová and Nina Biačková. The whole program was finished with lunch and then free discussion.

Kick off meeting - 29. April 2024
On 29 April, a kick-off meeting of the BRADY project was held at the Academy of Sciences building on Národní třída in Prague, which was combined with a workshop for expert teams. The meeting and workshop was attended by nearly 70 people, mainly scientists involved in the project. Among the guests of honour were also representatives of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports. In addition, all project partners were represented, both from the scientific teams and from the administrative teams.
In the morning, the aforementioned workshop was held, where the speakers were Pavel Šanda, Nikola Jajcay or Helmut Schmidt from the Institute of Computer Science of the Academy of Sciences or Ján Antolík from Charles University. After lunch, the kick-off meeting itself started. Jaroslav Hlinka, who is the project's scientific manager, gave the opening speech and introduced the main objectives of the project and the individual members of the scientific teams. He was followed by the project manager Michaela Lutisanova, who introduced the individual administrative teams of the partners. The main part of the afternoon was devoted to the presentation of the individual work packages and research objectives, with experts from all partner institutions, which are the National Institute of Mental Health, CTU, then three faculties of Charles University, namely MFF, LF HK and 2nd LF.
After a short coffee break, the last lectures were held in the late afternoon and focused on more practical research topics such as open science, open source software, scientific programming and working with medical data. The speakers were again Šanda and Jajcay, as well as Eduard Bakštein and Filip Španiel and Pavel Dvořák. The day ended with a dinner, after which an informal poster session was held together with a discussion of research topics.
